As I told you in my previous blog post, How I started working in the blogging world and made $30,000 in two years from zero. Now I will tell you that if you do not understand blogging well, but you already have a blog or website assets, you can still earn good money from them.

For example, if you have a blog website that is earning $2–$3 daily. Then it will make around $90 per month. If you calculate it for a year, it will make about $1080 or a little more or less. Maybe even less, because if the site is hit by Google updates, you could also incur losses. In this situation, you need to decide how to manage your life and achieve your goals without incurring excessive losses.

  2. Can you publish 2–4 posts weekly on this website or blog?
  3. Can you try to get natural backlinks through SEO?
  4. Was your previous content 100% unique?
  5. Are you updating your 6-month-old or 1-year-old posts, or can you update them?
  6. Can you give value to users according to your niche, such as tools or helpful resources?
  7. Do you have enough money in the backend so that you can work on it for 3–4 months to grow the earnings?

If the answer to 5 of these questions is yes, then you should continue working on this blog website. Because if you sell a website earning $3 daily or less, you may only get the yearly value of its earnings. But if you work on it for 3–4 months and increase the earnings, it can give you 4–5 times more value when selling.

  1. When you feel that you cannot give more attention to it.
  2. The site does not recover even after doing SEO for 3–4 months and continues to decline.
  3. People’s interest in the website niche is decreasing.
  4. Competition is increasing, the DR is low, and you are not able to update it regularly.
  5. When your website has thin content, it has already been hit by a Google update.

In this situation, you need to make a quick decision to avoid incurring a significant loss. So, here are the benefits of selling a blog or tool website.

In these situations, you should take the value of the site and list it in the market to sell. This will give you several benefits.

  • Your mind will become fresh.
  • You will get the opportunity to start a new business.
  • You will receive a good amount of money that will help you stay financially stable until your next project starts generating revenue.

In this way, your mind will get rest, and the stress of daily hits will end. You will start again with a new niche, new methods, and new rules. Your experience will increase.

Now I will tell you how you can keep yourself stable throughout the year. After the arrival of Google updates, Bing updates, and AI, working on general topics for blogs and websites is almost finished because AI itself is answering general questions. Because of this, CTR has dropped to around 1%.

For example, your site may rank at position 1, but if the topic is very general, Google AI or Bing AI may show the answer at the top. In that case, you will not get the 10%–30% CTR like before. Instead, you may only get 1%–3% CTR.

These topics may be evergreen, but they do not bring the same traffic as before.

Why Selling Websites Every 4–6 Months Can Be Smart

In such situations, you should sell these websites or blogs. It can also become a side business. You spend 3–6 months growing a site, and during this time, you also earn revenue from it. After algorithm updates and the arrival of AI, you should sell the site every 4–6 months.

  • This will keep your mind fresh.
  • You will get the opportunity to do something new every 4–6 months.
  • You will earn revenue from the blog plus the selling price, which is like 1 year or more of advance revenue.

Then you can repeat the same process for the next 3–6 months and earn even more revenue.

My Experience After Applying This Strategy

When I applied this rule in my life after 2023, believe me, it became easier for me to deal with updates and hits. After selling 2–3 blogs or sites, you will gain good experience. Once you build a list of clients, those clients will start buying websites and tool sites directly from you.
